DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT SCIENCE
As the Environmental Science is an Interdisciplinary subject, it is linked with all existing branches of knowledge hence have an infinite scope.
Environment belongs to all the living beings and thus each and every body of whatever occupation he or she may have is affected by environmental issues like global warming, depletion of natural recourses & ozone layer, dwindling forest, energy crises, loss of global biodiversity etc. • Environment study deals with the analysis of the processes in water, air, land, soil and organisms which leads to pollute or degrade environment. It helps us for establishing standards for safe, clean and healthy natural ecosystem. • It also deals with important issues like safe and clean drinking water, hygienic living conditions and clean and fresh air, fertility of land, healthy food and sustainable development. • Sustainable environmental law, business administration, environmental protection, management and environmental engineering are immerging as new career opportunities for environment protection and managements.
The Environmental Science enlightened us, about the importance of protection and conservation of our environment. At present a great number of environment issues, have grown in size and complexity day by day, threatening the survival of mankind on earth. We study about these issues beside and effective suggestions in the Environment Studies. Environment studies have become significant for the following reasons:
Therefore the wise Planning of Development is essential and can be achieved with the study of Environmental Science.

- The Environmental Science Department is established in 1983-84 and started catering education to first year students.
- The first graduation batch came out in 1986.
- The Post Graduate education in Environmental Science started from 2002-2003.

Achievment of Department
Environmental Science Dept is constantly working for betterment in its Academics, Research and Co-curricular activities.
Our Departmental results have been proved consistently high in the list of Merit. Scholars passed out from here have been successfully approved & selected in MPCB, Academic Institutions, Research Laboratories, NGO’s, Industries.
Departmen has gained recognition by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad for Research work. Till now many Projects & Research studies have been proved socially beneficial.
The Dept is the Office of Indian Association of aquatic Biologists (IAAB), an association working in the field of Aquatic Biology since 1980 and have a valuable References of old Journals of ‘Journal of Aquatic Biology’.
The Environmental Club was established in the academic year of 1990-91 & its objectives were to generate & inculcate environmental awareness, scientific temperament & to create an atmosphere of field work, scientific study along with regular lecture programmes. For this Nisarg Mitra Mandal, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, SB Research Foundation, Environmental Research Foundation & Educational Academy, local News papers, have showed a very supporting hand.
In this way this dept helps in the Academic, Research, Co-curricular and social development of its students thereby promoting for the betterment of their well being and making them an idol, patriotic and sound citizen.
