About Me

Dr. Ritika Joshi is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at S.B.E.S. College of Science, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. She earned her Ph.D. in 2018 with a focus on Biophysical Spectroscopy (Physical Chemistry) from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, under the mentorship of Prof. Sujit Kumar Ghosh. She completed her master's degree in Organic Chemistry in 2011, from University Department of Chemistry, RTMNU, Nagpur. She successfully qualified the CSIR-NET JRF exam in 2012, securing an AIR of 66 in Chemical Sciences. Before pursuing her doctoral studies, Dr. Joshi briefly worked as PA-II at CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (CSIR-NML), Jamshedpur. Following her Ph.D., Dr. Joshi held the position of Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Bhopal, and the Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai, Marathwada Campus, Jalna, amassing a total of 6 years of teaching experience at both graduate and post-graduate levels. She has supervised 4 master's students for their minor research projects and also served as the Girls' Hostel Warden at ICT Mumbai Jalna Campus. Dr. Joshi’s research expertise includes photophysics, fluorescence spectroscopy, biophysical chemistry, fluorescence sensing, halochromic molecules, and photo-pharmacology. She has published 21 research articles, 3 book chapters, and 1 conference paper in esteemed peer-reviewed international journals. She is a reviewer for various Elsevier journals and the Editor of the Purnabrahma magazine, Chamber for Advancement of Small & Medium Businesses (CASMB), Mumbai. In addition to her academic and research commitments, Dr. Joshi has organized workshops, STTP, and conferences. She is also dedicated to promoting science education by conducting science day programs for school and college students at the institute level.Life member of Indian Chemical Society (ICS) Membership No: 2024-LM/8772

Responsibilities

• In addition to teaching & research activities, Dr. Ritika has actively shouldered responsibilities catering to admission, industry-academia interaction, promoting science education, NEP dissemination & awareness, guiding mentee in their progress & learning activities, as well as assessing university end semester exam answer sheets.
