Saraswati Bhuvan Education Society is leading academic institution in Marathwada region of Maharashtra state imparting quality education in different streams Since 110 years presently L.Kg. to PhD. nearly 25000 students are taking education. Education Society is reknown for social activities which are directly useful for stakeholders. A prestigious project of MPCB entitled “National Ambient Air Quality Monitoring of Aurangabad City” has been sanctioned under National Ambient Air Quality Monitoring (NAAQAM) project CPCB, New Delhi and funded by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, Mumbai in the year 2005.

Air quality crisis in cities is mainly due to vehicular emissions; owing to the expanding economic base. Indian cities are growing at a faster rate. Transportation systems are increasing everywhere and the improved technology is insufficient to counteract growth. The effect of vehicular emission on urban air quality and human health has been described. A survey has been conducted in Aurangabad (Maharashtra, India) to evaluate the status of air pollution at traffic intersections and residential areas with the unique problem, arising vehicular emissions in the study has been narrated. This project is conducted for MPCB in collaboration under CPCB, New Delhi by S.B. E. S. College of Science, Chh. Sambhajinagar.

In this project some gaseous pollutant such as SO2, NO2 and particulate matter such as PM10, PM2.5, SPM, are continuously monitored with help of RDS Instrument and analyzed to assess the Ambient Air Quality. Daily data is reported to MPCB, Head office at Mumbai and MPCB, Regional Office, Chh. Sambhajinagar. The results are available at the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board website. MPCB based on satisfactory performance has given extension to this project continuously to our institution since 2005. Now Project work is going on
